At this time I truly feel Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) is one incredibly useful tool for studying the mind of our surfers.  For one,  It is one of the most cost effective ways of driving many people through your site very quickly.  I can actually drive a fairly large number of Google users through your site within a few hours of getting started.  And unlike print advertising in the newspaper, you only pay for those who actually click on your advertisement, instead of paying to be in several thousand copies, hoping someone will go through the trouble of going to the web to look you up.



What to learn...
First off, a starter PPC run will teach you a lot about what keywords your site should use.
Constant PPC Advertising.
Using PPC as a standard or constant form of adverting is highly suggested... depending on your product or business of course.  Just keep an eye on the ROI (Return on Investment).  Face it, some product lines are too competative with to small a margin to consider $200 to $1000 per week for advertising.
The Big guys have friends!
If you read the adwords and overture sites, you see that the adds in the top 3 positions get shipped out to their affiliate groups.  This can be some fantastic coverage for your site on some big websites like CNN.com or .com.  Like all good coverage it isn't cheap.
