Directory Inclusion is a fantastic way to get good relevant links to your website, unfortunately, they rarely bring real people to your website, just various crawlers and robots, and they have no wallets or credit cards.
Directories divide their listing by specialty, by including your website on the proper page creates a link from a very relative site (a site or a page that is similar (relavant) to what you do.
In a directory situation, if you have a link to your site selling, say leather jackets, getting listed in an entire page or website that is just links to other websites selling leather jackets, then you have a link from a highly relelvant page.
When it comes to the Search Engine Algorythms, relevent links are gold.
To get a website to rank,

your website must actually say....
"Phoenix Search Engine Marketing".
